Beautiful Beaches... Although Culebra is only seven miles long and three miles wide, about 40 percent of it is preserved as national park or conservation area. It's possible to find iguanas in the mangroves and sea turtles laying eggs on the beaches. There are vast meadows with silver grass that blows in waves, and uninhabited beaches everywhere, each with its own unique personality. Part of the joy of Culebra is finding new treasures of natural beauty. I've been coming to Culebra for twelve years, and I'm still discovering hidden beaches and new vistas.

As you would expect on an island paradise, life on Culebra owes much of its flavor to the ocean, whether you're in, under, on, or beside it. Culebra has scuba diving and snorkeling operations, sea kayak rentals, fishing expeditions, glass bottom boat tours, turtle watches, sailboat rentals, all in a low-key setting. If you prefer to strike out on your own, there are hills to hike and desolate beaches and reefs to while away the hours on, undisturbed--even at the height of the busy seasons.
